St. Timothy's Lutheran Child Care Center (STLCCC)
STLCCC has been a ministry to children in the surrounding communities for nearly 20 years. The dedicated director, teachers, and support staff have many years of child care experience. Many of them have been serving STLCCC for over seventeen years! Their committment to the Lord Jesus Christ, the church, and to our children shows through in this loving, family oriented child care setting.
Our promise is to provide the children with a loving, nuturing environment that will help them thrive and attain their greatest potential. Our purpose is to serve and support families in our church and community by providing a safe and caring environment for children. Our goals are to protect each child's uniqueness; to nurture intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical growth; and to encourage them to enjoy and appreciate one another. The children will receive a blend of secular and spiritual training that provides a foundation for the process of learning and developing social consciousness. Every child will be taught an appreciation of the wonders of God's creation, that they are loved and precious to God and that they have a very special friend in Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
St. Timothy's Lutheran Child Care Center admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, priviledges, programs and activities generally made available to children enrolled in the center. Every child and family is welcome in our church and daycare center!
STLCCC Facilities
STLCCC is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (NYSOCFS) to provide care for up to 47 children daily between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. STLCCC does not provide care to school-aged children.
Our center has stimulating classrooms for each age, infant through senior preschooler. All students enjoy shared access to the cafeteria, chapel, fellowship room (indoor play area), sandbox, bike corner, multiple sunny and shaded playgrounds, and nature trail. We believe a variety of indoor and outdoor activities provide the stimulation our children need to develop to their greatest potential. See some photos at the bottom of this page, or call the daycare office for a personal tour.
The facility is open Monday through Friday, 7 am through 6 pm. During these hours, we provide breakfast, lunch and two snacks for all children. Our child care facility has a security system in place to ensure the safety of the children.
The center is closed in observance of the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (and the Friday after), and Christmas break. The center also closes at 1:00 pm the Friday before the start of the new school year. In the event of emergency closing, we will notify news channels 2, 4, and 7; please check their website and televised closing listings

Our Classrooms and Teachers
The experienced infant room staff work to encourage growth and development of our youngest children, beginning at 6 weeks of age. Volunteer "grandmothers" assist in holding and loving the children in order to maintain a safe and happy environment for the children to thrive. The staff encourages the use of sign language for communication. It is here that the children form their first friendships.
The junior and senior toddler rooms are very active, stimulating environments. Here the children form lasting bonds with their teachers and friends, and develop many skills while enjoying a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Riding bikes in the bike corner, exploring the nature trail, learning to cook, summer camp week, and making crafts are among the many things they will take part in. The children also participate in Children's Church with Pastor Dean on a weekly basis (see the ministries link on the left for more information, and the Calendar for scheduling).
Junior and senior preschoolers (through age five) participate in an educational pre-school program in preparation for kindergarten. They enjoy additional activities such as nature exploration, gardening, cooking, letter of the week, early computer skills, reading, writing, and a field trip to Sidway Elementary School (kindergarten). The children also participate in Children's Church with Pastor Dean on a weekly basis. The graduation ceremony is an anticipated event for parents, teachers and students.
Our staff is certified in CPR and First Aid. The average staff member at STLCCC has been with us for MORE than TEN years! We are blessed to have such dedicated people here at STLCCC. Our teachers and assistants are trained in principles of Early Childhood Development. The staff frequently attend special seminars and trainings on a variety of subjects, such as Red Cross CPR, childhood obesity, child abuse, missing & exploited children, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and nurturing responsible children.

STLCCC Events and Fundraising
Our child care staff provides a variety of interesting events to give our children a very well-rounded educational experience. Visits from a local dentist, the Zoomobile and the Grand Island Fire Company are provided each year. Additional events in the past include our anniversary party, graduation ceremonies, and caterpillar delivery!
Since STLCCC is a not-for-profit child care agency, we hold a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. Past fundraisers include the Chicken BBQ, candy bar sale, Pancake Breakfast with Santa, Basket Auction and hanging plant sale. Check the events calendar link on the left for information on all STLCCC events, including future fundraisers.
